AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF TROTTER STREET, HYMAN STREET. <br />~HY~ STREET (~PLATTED)~ DUNCAN STREET~ BAXTER STREET AND TWO <br />PRIVATE LANES. <br /> <br /> WtIEREAS, the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, desires to vacate, <br />close and discontinue the hereinafter described portion of Trotter <br />Street, HI;man Street, Hyman Street (Unplatted), Duncan Street, <br />Baxter Street and Two Private Lanes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by a resolution of this Council adopted on June 28, <br />1995, viewers were appointed pursuant to Section 15.1-364 of the <br />Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, to view the hereinafter <br />described portion of said streets, lanes and report in writing <br />whether in their opinion any, and if any, what inconvenience would <br />result from discontinuing said portion of Trotter Street, Hyman <br />Street, Hyman Stree~ (Unptatted), Duncan Street, Baxter street and <br />Two Private Lanes; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the said viewers have reported in writing that in <br />their opinion, no inconvenience would result mn the closing and <br />discontinuing of that portion of Trotter Street, Hyman Street, <br />HI;man Street (Unplatted), Duncan Street, Baxter Street and Two <br />Private Lanes. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that the portion of said street and lanes <br />hereinafter described be closed and vacated as public sureens and <br />lanes. <br /> <br />TROTTER STREET: That portion of Trotter Street south of <br />Ballard Avenue and lying between the southern right of <br />way line of Ballard Avenue (which right of way line is <br />70 feet south of the centerline of the Seaboard <br />Coastline Railroad track , and the exnenslon across <br />Trotter Street of the northerly line of the property <br />conveyed no Portsmouth Redevelopmenn and Housing <br />Authority by deed of Mamie Blanchard Pierce, et vmr, <br />dated November 3, 1982 and recorded in the Clerk's <br />Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, in Deed book 839, at page 620 <br /> <br />HYMAN STP~EET: That portion of Hyman Street north of the <br />south side of Duncan Street and lying between the south <br />side of Duncan Street and south side of Ballard Avenue, <br />being a portion of Hyman Street shown on the Plat of <br />Hyman Ville, which plat ms recorded in the Clerk's <br />Office of the Circuit Court of the City of Chesapeake, <br />Virginia, in Map Book 5, page 63. <br /> <br /> <br />
