1995-59 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BX AMENDING SECTIONS 22-266 AND 22-269 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO MOTOR VEHICLES ARD TRAFFIC. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 22-266 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained to read as follows: Sec. 22-266. Special permits for oversize and overweight vehicles-Generally. The city manager may, in his discretion, upon application in writing and good cause being shown therefor, issue a special permit in writing authorizing the applicant to opera5e or move upon the highways, a vehicle of a size or weight exceeding the maximum specified in this article. Every such permit may designate the route to be traversed and contain any other restrictions or conditions deemed necessary by the city manager, excepn as otherwise provided in this division. Unless otherwise specified in this division, the following processing fees for such permits shall be charged: (i) Annual (blanket) permit: First unit ...................... That Section 22-269 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained ~o as follows: read Sec. 22-269. Form of application; fee. The owner or driver of any vehicle of excessive' size or weight shall make application for issuance of a permit pursuant to the provisions of this division co the city manager, upon forms approved by the city manager and accompanied, except as otherwise provided, by e the fee prescribed under Section 22-266 which shall be payable to the City.
