AN ORDINAI~CE TO AMEND CHAPTER 38 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTION 38-83 THEREOF, PERTAINING TO WATER METER RATES. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That Section 38-83 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained to read as follows: Section 38-83. Meter rates for water supplied. (a) For all water which passes through meners, consumers within the corporane limits of the City shall pay two dollars ($2.00) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or one dollar and forty-nine and sixty-nwo hundredths cen5s ($1.4962) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. (b) For all wa5er which passes through meuers, the customers of the City of Chesapeake who are served by Portsmouth and whose raues are not sen by contract shall pay three dollars ($3.00) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or two dollars and twenty-four and forty-three hundredths cents ($2.2443) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of water supplied. (c) For all water which passes through the meters of the City of Chesapeake pursuanu to contract, the City of Chesapeake shall pay three dollars and ($3.00) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or nwo dollars and twenty-four and forty-three hundredths cents ($2.2443) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of waner supplied. (d) For all water which passes through meners to the City of Suffolk pursuanu mo contract, the City of Suffolk shall pay one dollar and eighty-three and thirty-four hundredths cents ($1.8334) per one thousand (1,000) gallons or one dollar and thirty-seven and sixteen hundredths cents ($1.3716) per one hundred (100) cubic feet of wauer supplied. 2.
