AN OP~DINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY AMENDING SECTION 2-112, THEREOF <br />PERTAINING TO ANNUAL LEAVE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 2-112 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended and reordained ~o read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-112. Annual leave. <br /> <br /> (a) There shall be granted to each officer and employee <br />of of the city annual leave at the tame as follows: <br /> <br />Years of Hours Day <br />Service Per Mo. Per Yr. <br /> <br />1 mo. 4 yrs. <br /> 5-9 <br /> 10-14 <br /> 15-19 <br /> 20+ <br /> <br />9.4 14.1 <br />10.0 15.0 <br />11.4 17.1 <br />12.7 19.1 <br />14.0 21.0 <br /> <br /> Annual leave is not earned <br />less than a full calendar month. <br />earned, credited and approved. <br /> <br />for any period of employment of <br /> Leave may nou be taken until <br /> <br /> Officers and employees will have an accounting of their <br />annual leave printed on their pay check stubs. Annual leave <br />earned each month will be credited in the first pay period of <br />the following month. <br /> <br /> (b) Annual leave may be taken au any time with the <br />written approval of the department head concerned. During the <br />period of December 16 through December 31, department heads <br />shall nou take annual leave excepE with the prior written <br />approval of the city manager or his designee. <br /> <br /> (c) Annual leave taken shall only be charged against the <br />normal working days of the officer or employee concerned. <br /> <br /> (d) Ail annual leave taken must be reported ~o the <br />finance department at the end of each period, and such shall be <br />deducted from the leave account of the person taking such <br />leave. <br /> <br />(e) The amounm of annual leave to which any officer or <br /> <br /> <br />
