23 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION ESTABLISH AN URBAN HIGHWAY PROJECT TO CONSTRUCT <br />AN OFF-RAMP FROM WESTBOUND I-264 BETWEEN VICTORY BOULEVARD AND <br />GREENWOOD DRIVE TO INTERSECT ELMHURST LANE. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Virginia Department of <br />Transportation construction allocation procedures, it is <br />necessary that a request by Council resolution be made in order <br />that the Department program an Urban highway project in the <br />City of Portsmouth; and the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, deems same to be in the City's best interest. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, requests the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation to establish a project for the construction of <br />an additional off-ramp from westbound 1-264 at an appropriate <br />distance east of the existing westbound off-ramp at Greenwood <br />Drive to intersect Elmhurst Lane in the vicinity of the CSX <br />railroad. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on February 28, 1995. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
