21 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION ESTABLISH AN URBAN HIGHWAY PROJECT TO IMPROVE <br />TYRE NECK ROAD FROM THE CITY'S SOUTHERN LIMITS ON SAME TO WEST <br />NORFOLK ROAD. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with Virginia Department of <br />Transportation construction allocation procedures, it is <br />necessary that a request by Council resolution be made in <br />order that the Department program an urban highway project in <br />the City of Portsmouth; and the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, deems same to be in the City's best <br />interest. <br /> <br /> THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia, requests the Virginia Department of <br />Transportation to establish a project for the improvement of <br />Tyre Neck Road from the City's Southern limits on same to West <br />Norfolk Road as a two-lane road with appropriate turn lanes, <br />as required, a distance of approximately 0.4 miles. <br /> <br /> Adopted by Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at <br />a meeting held on February 28, 1995. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
