56 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENDORSING THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH'S APPLICATION TO <br />THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR FUNDS <br />TO OFFSET SITE PREPARATION COSTS AT PORTCENTRE COMMERCE PARK. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the General Assembly, through the Clean Sites <br />Grant Program, has allocated funds to assist cities in <br />preparing commercial and industrial sites for new development <br />activities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, PortCentre Commerce Park has been identified by <br />the City of Portsmouth as meeting the General Assembly's <br />criteria; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, with the award of a Clean Sites grant, the City <br />will be able to greatly enhance site preparation in the subject <br />area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City acknowledges that any grant awarded to <br />it under the Clean Sites Grant Program requires a fifty percent <br />(50%) local match. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the <br />City of Portsmouth, Virginia, hereby endorses the application <br />for this grant and has appropriated or pledges to appropriate <br />the City's fifty percent (50%) local match of any grant awarded <br />by the Department of Housing and Community Development pursuant <br />to this application. <br /> <br /> Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia, at a meeting held on August 8, 1995. <br /> <br /> Teste: <br /> <br /> <br /> City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
