AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 22 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988), BY AMENDING SECTIONS 22-71 AND <br />22-89 THERETO, PERTAINING TO MOTOR VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, <br />Virginia: <br /> <br /> 1. That Section 22-71 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988), be amended and reordained to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 22-71. Violations of article. <br /> <br /> Unless otherwise specifically provided, a violation of any <br />provision of this article shall constitute a Class 4 <br />misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> 2. That Section 22-89 of the Code of the City of <br />Portsmouth, Virginia (1988), be amended and reordained to read <br />as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 22-89. Use or sale of plate, sticker or decal on <br /> unauthorized vehicle prohibited. <br /> <br /> No person shall use any license plate, sticker or decal <br />issued under this article on any vehicle other than the vehicle <br />for which it was issued or to which it was transferred by the <br />commissioner of the revenue nor shall any person sell any <br />license plate, sticker or decal to another for placement on any <br />vehicle except that for which it was originally issued or <br />lawfully transferred. A violation of this section shall <br />constitute a Class 4 misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> 3.
