AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND VACATING PORTIONS OF CRABAPPLE STREET AND BART STREET IN THE AREA OF THE RIDDICK REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority has made application to close and vacate portions Crabapple Street and Bart Street as hereafter described; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at a meeting held on November 3, 1998, recommended approval of the closing and vacating of said streets and roads; and WHEREAS, notice of the proposed closure has been given adjoining property owners in accordance with Section 15.2-2006 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia that the portions of Crabapple Street and Bart Street be closed and vacated as a public streets, and rights of way as follows: CRABAPPLE STREET All that certain piece or parcel of land lying, being and situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the southern side of south Street and the western side of Crabapple and thence from said beginning point S 04 03' 50" E a distance of 359.37 feet to a point; thence N 87 43' 54" E a distance of 30.01 feet; thence N 85 56' 10" E a distance of 20.00 feet; thence along a curve to the left with a radius of 50.00' and a length of 157.08 feet; thence S 85 56' 10" W a distance of 5 feet; thence along a curve to the right with a radius of 15.00' and a length of 23.56 feet; thence N 04 03' 50" W a distance of 254.92 feet to the southern side of South Street; thence S 68 10' 21" W along the southern side of South street to the point of begirming. BART STREET All that certain piece or parcel of land lying, being and situate in the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the intersection of the eastern side of Crabapple Street and the northern side of Bart Street and thence N 85 56' 10" E a distance of I81.00 feet to a point; thence S 04 03' 50" E a distance of 30:00 feet to a point; thence S 85 56' 10" W a distance of 181.00 feet to a point on the eastern side of Crabapple Street; thence N 04 03' 50" W along the eastern side of Crabapple Street 30.00 feet to the point of beginning.
