AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 40 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, VIRGINIA (1988) BY ENACTING A NEW SECTION 40-41.24 THERETO AND AMENDING TABLES 40-43.1-2, 40-44-3, 40-44-4, AND 40-61o1-1 THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE CREATION OF A BUSINESS PARK (BP) ZONING DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia: 1. That there hereby is enacted a new Section 40-41-24 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) to read as follows: Sec. 40-41.24. Business Park BP district. Primarily a district for office, professional services and research and development with limited light industrial and wholesale activities permitted in a controlled park-like setting. 2. That Table 40-43.1-2 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended to permit certain uses by right or upon issuance of a use permit in the Business Park BP zoning district, as shown on Exhibit A, attached hereto and made a part hereof. 3. That Table 40-44-3 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended to establish dimensmnal requirements for the Business Park BP zoning district, as shown on Exhibit B, attached hereto and made a part hereof. 4 That Table 40-44-4 of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended to establish minimum yard requirements for the Business Park BP zoning district, as shown on Exhibit C, attached hereto and made a part hereof. 5. That Table 40-61. I of the Code of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia (1988) be amended to permit certain types of signs in the Business Park BP zoning district upon issuance of a certificate of compliance, as shown on Exhibit D, attached hereto and made a part hereof. 6. That this ordinance shall take effect on the date of its adoption. Adopted by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, at a meeting held on August 22, 2000. Teste: City Clerk
