g. Tactical Response Unit <br /> <br /> Any sworn officer assigned as one of the 17 members of the Police <br /> Tactical Response Unit shall receive an allowance in the amount of <br /> $900 annually. <br /> <br /> h. Master Police Officers or Master Firefighters <br /> <br /> Sworn personnel in the classifications of Police Officer and <br /> Firefighter may receive a special allowance as Master Police Officers <br /> or Master Firefighters. This shall consist of a $1500 flat rate <br /> allowance for the duration of the period that the sworn person retains <br /> the "Master" designation, even in cases where this would cause an <br /> employee's salary to exceed the maximum of the range. <br /> <br /> i. Education Allowance <br /> <br /> Sworn personnel in the classifications of Police Officer, Police <br /> Officer Trainee, Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain, <br /> Assistant Police Chief, Police Chief, Firefighter, Firefighter Trainee, <br /> Fire Lieutenant, Fire Captain, Fire Battalion Chief, Deputy Fire <br /> Chief, and Fire Chief will receive an Education Allowance in the <br /> amount of $500 per year for attainment of an Associate's degree or <br /> $1,000 annually for attainment of a Bachelor's degree. <br /> <br /> j. Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus <br /> <br /> Sworn personnel in classifications of Firefighter, Fire Lieutenant, and <br /> Fire Captain, who are certified in the repair and maintenance of self- <br /> contained breathing apparatus and are designated by the Fire Chief <br /> shall receive an allowance of $900 annually. This designation is <br /> limited to six persons. <br /> <br /> k. K-9 Corps <br /> <br /> Any sworn officer of the Police Department assigned to the K-9 <br /> Corps shall be allowed an hour's pay per day for canine care and <br /> maintenance. This time will be reflected as hours worked and be paid <br /> <br /> <br />
