<br /> Petition of the Trustees of Jackson Memorial Baptist 0hutch to have remitted taxes charged
<br />against house located at 1905 Elm Avenue, Portsmouth, Va., which is owned and used as a par-
<br />sonage by the said Church.
<br /> It is recommended that $~5.00 taxes for the Year 1~26 on this property be relieved,
<br />said ~axes being assessed in the name of ~m. ~ Stallings,
<br />

<br /> The following communication was read from the Oity Manager:
<br /> irt. "I respectfully recom-
<br />mend that the attached bill of $100.00 due Nr. R. Ko Revell for acting as arbitrator for the
<br />City in the dispute with Duke & Smith, relative to the new City Market, be paid. Oopy of a
<br />letter from Mr. Revell explaining in detail why the amount of the bill was changed from $25.00,
<br />as originally agreed upon with General Jervey, to $100.00, is attached.
<br />
<br />I am thoroughly convinced that $100.00 is a fair compensation for M~. Revell's services.·
<br />
<br />On motion of Mr. Maupin, the recommendation was referred to Fir~nce Oommittee.
