<br />"A RESOLUTION GRANTING APPROVAl FOR A GROUP HOUSING PROJECT PURSUANT TO
<br />SECTION 40-S5 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF PORTSMOUTH, 1973, AS AMENDED,
<br />SAID PROJECT BEING KNOWN AS, "MT. HERMON ELDERLY GROUP HOUSING PROJECT"
<br />AND DESIGNATED AS CHP-80-1.

<br /> WHEREAS, Portsmouth Redevelopment And Housing Authority has made application pursuant
<br />to Section 40-55 of the Code of ~he City of Portsmouth, Virginia, 1973, as amended, for
<br />the granting and approval for a group housing project known as "Mt. Hermon Elderly Group
<br />Housing Project, GHP-80-1," which is an intrical phase of the "Mt. Hermon Urban Redevelopment
<br />And Conservation Project, VA-R-69"; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the application for the same has been determined by the Planning Commission
<br />to have met the requirements of Section 40-55; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed such application and site plans submitted
<br />therewith and has recommended approval of said application; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the developer has been informed that approval of a group housing project
<br />pursuant to said Section 40-55 of the Code Of the City of Portsmouth grants only an exemption
<br />from certain requirements for residences as stated ~n said Section 40-55 and does not
<br />constitute a waiver of any other requirements embodied in the Subdivision Ordinance, the
<br />Zoning Ordinance, the Code of the City of Portsmouth or any other applicable State or
<br />Federal laws or regulations; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the developer is aware that building permits and/or any other required
<br />permit will be issued only upon compliance with ordinances, laws or regulations applicable
<br />thereto.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Portsmouth, Virginia,
<br />that the certain group housing project known as, "Mt. Hermon Elderly Group Housing Project"
<br />and designated as GHP-80-1, and more specifically shown on plans entitled, "Mt. Hermon
<br />Elderly Housing Plan By Melvin W. Spence ~ Associates, Architects, Norfolk, Virginia",
<br />dated January 1980 #877-79, filed with the City 6f Portsmouth's Department of Inspections
<br />and made a part hereof, is hereby granted approval."

<br />some concern about the concept of that being made for h~gh deR~ity use.

<br />The parcel of property that is on High Street at Cedar Lane, I have some concern
<br />about the concept of that being msde available for high density use.
<br />
