December 6, 1999 '- 093 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, December 6, 1999, there <br />were present: <br /> <br />*Mayor James W..Holley III, *Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, P. <br />Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, *William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. <br /> <br />99 - 261 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City <br />Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:30 p.m., Monday, <br />December 6, 1999, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br /> By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />99 - 262 - The following item was discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br /> Vision 2005 update <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Pitts, and seconded by Mr. Robinett, to go into Closed Meetipg <br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consi~Jer <br />the following: <br /> <br /> - the acquisition or sale of real property for a public purpose, as authorized by <br />paragraph A.3, with the subject property being primarily in the downtown, northside, and <br />western areas of the City; and <br /> <br /> - discussion of specific public officers, appointees or employees of the City, as <br />authorized by paragraph A.I. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section 2.1- <br />344.1 of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br /> 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and ' <br /> <br /> 2. Only such public business matters as were identified i~ the motion by which <br /> the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br /> the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br /> The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Minutes prepared,~ / <br /> <br />Victor H.
