July 10, 2001 <br /> <br /> At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, July 10, 2001, there were <br />present: <br /> <br />*Mayor James W. Holley III, Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, <br />P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Berm III, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, <br />Sr., City Manager Daniel M. Stuck, Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson. <br /> <br />01 - 202 - The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the CitY thCOUnCil to be held in the City <br />Manager's conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6 floor, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, July <br />10, 2001 for the purpose of a Public Work Session. <br /> <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br />01 - 203 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br /> <br />1. Chapter 23, "Nuisances," -Proposed Code Revisions - Fred Brusso <br /> <br />2. NTELOS at Harbor Center Update - H. Timothy Little <br /> <br />3. USDA Food Program - Dr. Patton <br /> <br />4. City Manager Items, Retreat Update <br /> - Budget Timeline <br /> <br />01 - 204 - Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1,344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or <br />consider the following: <br /> <br /> Disposition of publicly held real property in the Shea Terrace neighborhood, <br />as permitted under Subsection A.3; and <br /> <br />Appointment to City boards and commissions, as permitted under Subsection <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section <br />2.1-344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's <br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: <br /> <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br /> requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br /> <br />Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in <br />the meeting by the City Council. <br /> <br />The motion was adopted by unanimous votel <br /> <br /> On motion, meeting adjourned. <br />Senior Deputy C~lerk <br /> <br />APPROVED - <br /> <br />Dr. J~n~es W.
