January 13, 2000 ,I ~ ,5 At. a Called Meeting of the City Council on Thursday, January 13, 2000, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley III, *Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., Cameron C. Pitts, *P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn III, William E. Moody, Jr., Chades B. Whitehurst, Sr. Appointees present: William E. Fmehlich, City Assessor G. Timothy Oksman, City Attorney Debra Y. White, City Clerk 00 - 17 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:30 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2000, for the purpose of a Public Work Session. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Pitts, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to previsions of Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: - performance of specific elected and/or appointed City officials, as permitted under subsection (A)(1). Motion by Mr. Griffin, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section 2.1- 344.1 of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council:. 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
