Local match <br /> required for supportive services is already available within the current Social Services <br /> operating budget; therefore, no local appropriation is necessary. <br /> "A motion is required to transfer $125,063 within the Virginia Public Assistance Fund to <br /> allow the Portsmouth Department of Social Services to provide Employment Services as mandated <br /> by the Virginia General Assembly in its 1982 Legislative Session. <br /> A supplemental allocation of State and Federal Funds has been provided to cover the costs <br /> of this program from January l, 1983 through June 30, 1983, the first six months of program <br /> implementation. The services are to be provided to applicants for and recipients of Aid to <br /> Dependent Children public assistance and will include concentrated job search services as <br /> well as supportive services such as Day Care and Transportation. Mr. Whitlow cormmended <br />on his efforts at the Bond Hearings, and to thank him for his efforts. <br /> 82-435 Mr. Holley requested the City Manager to look into the courtesy parking for <br />Senior Citizens in the Downtown area, (Trinity Church). <br /> 82-436 Mr. Barnes requested rules of procedure be drafted for Public Hearing meetings. <br /> <br /> Whitlow asked the City Manager for a study on taxation on a pro-rata basis <br />the Commissioner of Revenue to see if it is feasiblc.
