Hanbury to be reappointed as <br />expiring December 31, 1987. <br /> <br />an Alternate Member for a term of four years, <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Holley, to <br />further nominations, the above members to be elected to <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />close nominations and there being no <br />the designated Board/C~mmission, and <br /> <br /> 84-38 <br />office. <br /> <br />John ~Tallace, 957-C Suburban Parkway, was speaking on the Mayor not running for <br /> <br /> Mr. Whitlow stated that Mr. ~allace was completely out of order and not be allowed to <br />continue unless he wish to speak on some issues affecting the administration ~f the City. <br />The Council was in agreement unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor ruled that the speaker was Out of Order. <br /> <br /> 84-39 - John Winters, 1616 Ward Terrace, representing West Park View Community League, <br />spoke concerning West Park View being designated as a Conservation District. <br /> <br /> Alvin C. Palmer, 1717 A Street, representing West Park View Community League, spoke in <br />support of Mr. Winters~ remarks. <br /> <br /> 84-40 - Clyde A. Toler, 1029 Blair Street, fas~d~n~ of Park View, spoke regarding Park <br />View being designated as a Historic District, as the elderly residents were concerned of real <br />estate~taxes being increased, and requested that the residents of the area be informed of any <br />changes expected. <br /> <br /> Mr. Whitlow requested that the City Manager or PRHA get in touch with residents and <br />explain to them the program. <br /> <br /> 84-41 - Motion of Mr. Whitlow and seconded by ~rs. Webb, to ~o into an executive session <br />for the purpose of discussing a Lagal ~atter~ and Use of Public Property, and was adopted by <br />unanimous vote. Council went into session at 9:46~p~m. <br /> <br /> Council reconven~d at 10:01 p.m. <br /> <br /> 84-42 -Mrs. Webb inquired as~'t~ ~ho has the aUthOrity on rent control in the City. <br /> <br /> The City Manager stated that the matter should be referred to the G~neral Assembly, as <br />the City has no control over any increase~in rent. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPROVED -~ <br /> <br />City <br /> <br /> <br />
