Agril 10, 1984 <br /> <br />meeting, as requ6sted, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 84-128 - Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, that the closure of Augusta Avenue <br />from intersection of the northern line of Clifford~Street and former northern right-of-way <br />line of Seaboard Coastline Railroad, be deferred to the next meeting (April 24, 1984), and <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 84-129 - J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, spoke concerning the city's retirement <br />system, and supported the city re~re~6~t~under VSRS. <br /> <br /> The City Manager stated that he would furnish a report concerning the retirment system <br />in the budget me~$~ge~nL~il 24, 1984. <br /> the City Manager <br /> 84~138 - Councilman Barnes requested/to look into expanding the gym at W.W.H.S. to keep <br />the PIT events in Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> Councilman Barnes asked the City Manager to look int~ an Urban Homesteading Program <br />being conducted in Richmond, and a report be furnished on the matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Holley commented on retaining the PIT i~ Portsmouth. <br /> <br /> Councilman Gray also expressed his concern on the matter.and commended publicly Mr. James <br />L. Williams and his committee for thec~outstandi~g work during the PIT event. <br /> 84-130 - Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Webb, to go into an executives session <br />to discuss the following, and was adopted by unanimous vote: <br /> <br />(1) Use, ~ale, or Acquisition of Public Property; <br />(2) Consultation and Briefing on Legal Matters <br /> including Contracts and Litigation; <br />(3) A Personnel Matter; <br />(4) Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />~City Ci~~ <br /> <br /> <br />
