As <br />Council is aware there were no negative comments to the proposal. In fact, there were positiw <br />endorsements of the Plan. <br /> <br /> Based upon the positive comments and the <br />private venture I recommend that City Council <br />motion endorsing this recommendation would be <br /> <br />functional attributes of the proposed public/ <br />adopt the Plan as presented. Therefore, a <br />in order.~ <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mrs. Webb to approve the City Park Plan with <br />the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. Extension of Clifford Street <br />2. Additional design work on golf course <br />3. Evaluate alternate areas for parking. <br /> <br />both golf pros be involved <br /> <br />in the design. <br /> <br />and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 84~201 Councilman Whitlow offered the following nominations for appointments to the <br />following Boards Corm~issions: <br /> <br />Parking Authority <br /> <br /> Dr. James C. Sears to be reappointed for a term of four years, ending July 1, 1988; <br />Billy McDaniel to be reappointed for 2 years to coincide with his term of expiration on <br />Municipal Finance Commission, term ending July 1, 1986. <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Blue Ribbon Advisory Committee [TRT) <br /> <br />Vann Lefcoe to be appointed as needed. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. <br />further nominations, the above members were <br />~nd was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Barnes, to close nominations and there being no <br />elected to the designated BoardstCommissions, <br /> <br /> 84-202 <br />City Council <br />was denied. <br /> <br />Linda McCloud, ~15 Summers Place, representing the Cathedral of Praise, requeste~ <br />to reconsider the denial on UP 84-4, day care center petition, and asked why it <br /> <br />The City Attorney advised the City Council pertaining legal aspects of the request. <br /> <br />Council took the matter under adv~sement~' <br /> <br /> 84-203 - Ams~a Connor, 3308 Armistead Drive, representing Harrison Ward Civic League/ <br />Concerned Citizens of North Truxtun, spoke concerning petition presented in March 1984, <br />recuesting Council to re-evaluate the priority list for street improvements. <br /> <br /> The City Manager responded and stated he had Yisited the area, and hopefully, to be able <br />to address the problem in the ~ery near future. <br /> <br /> 84~204 - Joseph Knight, 4820 Portsmouth Boulevard, representing Simonsdale Divic Club, <br />expressed appreciation for work completed on Sykes Avenue. <br /> <br /> 84-205 Motion of Mr. Whitlow and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to go into an executive <br />session to discuss the following, and was adopted by unamimous vote: <br /> <br />(1) Use, Sale, or Acquisition of <br /> Public Property <br />(2) Consultation and Briefing on <br /> Legal Matters including <br /> Contracts and Litigation <br /> (3) A Personnel Matter <br />(4) Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />On motion meeting adjourned. <br />APPP~OVED - ~ <br /> <br /> <br />
