<br />Joseph Preziotti, Jr., planning consultant, for 152 dwelling units in
<br />16 two and three story building on land west cor~porate, city limits.

<br />The following letter was received from Attorney J. S. hivesay, Jr.:

<br /> "Hearring-Overton Partnership has made application for a Group Housing Project Site Plan
<br />approval. The project is called Independence Square and is to be built upon land off George
<br />Washington Highway recently rezone by the Council.
<br />
<br />This application is scheduled to be presented to the Council at its meeting on May 14th.
<br />
<br /> Since I represented the Landowner in the recent rezoning these applicants have hired me
<br />with respect to the site plan approval. Unfortunately, I have made all arrangements to take
<br />a vaction trip to Europe with my children. We leave May 12th.
<br />
<br /> It is respectfully requested that this matter be continued
<br />June llth in order that I may personally speak in behalf of the

<br />
<br />Hugh Slaydon, Jr., 635 Douglas Avenue, requested an additional 5 minutes.
<br />
<br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mrs. Webb, that Mr. Slaydon be granted an additional
<br />5 minutes, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br />Mr. Slaydon spoke in opposition of GHP 85-9 and requested that the application be denied.
<br />
<br /> Councilman Whitlow stated he would abstain on the matter, as he represents, one of the two
<br />developers. ·
