I recommend acceptance of the award and <br />the transfer of $9,663 from the Grants Contingency Account to fund the project." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Corprew and seconded by Mrs. Webb, that authorization be granted to transfe <br />$9,663 from Grants Contingency Account, as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> 85-234 Vice Mayor Webb offered the following nomination for appointment to the followin <br />Board/Commission: <br /> <br /> Housing Board of Adjustments g Appeals <br /> <br /> Edward N. Hayden, Jr. to be appointed as <br />Hunsaker. <br /> <br />an Ex-Officio member replacing Dr. R. Dale <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. <br />further nominations, the above member to be <br />was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Webb, to close nominations, and there being no <br />elected to the designated Board/Commission, and <br /> <br /> 85-235 Elliot Cohen, 6029 High Street, W., spokeconcerning lack of sewers running to <br />Lots 3 and 4 on subdivision plat located at formerly Shoney's. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, <br />Manager for investigation and Mr. Cohen be advised <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br />that the matter be referred to the City <br />of the findings, and was adopted by <br /> <br /> 85-236 - Councilman Corprew submitted the following petition: <br /> <br /> "The purpose of this petition is to make the city aware of the deplorable conditions and <br />of the decrease in c~ty services which exist in the area of the city which includes Spruce <br />Street, Syer Road and Gibney Street. <br /> <br />Those conditons include: <br /> <br />1. Cluttered ditches and uncut grass along the roadside. <br />2. Other people's use of the area in question as a dumping ground for trash <br /> and garbage. <br />3. Methods of operation practiced by the salvage yard, in the area in question, <br /> are sub-standard, to say the least. Scrap items are always outside of the <br /> confines of the company property which block ditch drainage and contribute to <br /> flooding 6f the area by any appreciable amount of rainfall. <br />Signed by Margaret C.
