Also lack of efficient lighting in parking <br />˗ <br />lot where a business was previously located. <br /> <br /> City Manager Carter provided an update. <br /> Update on sewer station on Douglas Avenue and large hole in the area. <br />˗ <br /> <br /> Mr. Moody asked City Manager Carter for an update on the number of pump stations <br /> <br />still relying on auxiliary pumping. <br /> <br /> Mayor Glover spoke on the following: <br /> <br /> 911 Remembrance Ceremony. <br />˗ <br /> Filipino Festival, October 5-6, 2024, at Atlantic Union Bank Pavilion Festival Park. <br />˗ <br /> <br /> <br /> City Attorney Graham-Williams informed City Council and citizens of the Free Legal <br />Planning Seminar, 12:30 p.m. - 4 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the <br />Portsmouth main branch library, 601 Court Street, <br /> <br /> Mr. Barnes wished school administration and students a good school year. <br /> <br /> <br />24 - 260 - Report on Pending Items <br /> <br />There were no pending items. <br /> <br /> Councilman Barnes asked that the report backs be emailed to Council the Friday <br /> <br />before the meeting. <br /> <br />24 - 261 - Non-Agenda Speakers <br /> <br />1. Harold Carothers, III, 1616 Belafonte Drive, voiced his concern with various issues in <br />the City. <br /> <br />th <br />2. Gary Bahena, 428 North Street, spoke on the 4 Annual Paddle Battle and thanked <br /> those that participated. <br /> <br />3. Phyllita Bolden, 4700 George Washington HWY, spoke on the Kids in Grief program. <br /> <br />4. Sergio Neal, 1420 Elm Avenue, voiced his concern with the safety at school bus stops. <br /> <br />5. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, offered some suggestions for the <br />legislative packages. <br /> <br />6. Sheila Joseph, 139 Grand Street, spoke on the need to have overhanging trees <br />cutback to prevent power outages during storms. <br /> <br />7. Garland Alexander, 2913 Tanbark Lane, thanked City Council for approving Item 24- <br />257a and 24-257b. <br /> <br />8. Charmain Hankins, 4417 Green Acres Parkway, wanted to provide clarity on <br />information seen on social media regarding her towing business. <br /> <br />9.
