April 22, 1986 <br /> <br /> 86-129 - Rev. Jim Hundley, 1023 Naval Ave, representing Park View Civic League, presented <br />the following resolution: <br /> <br /> "Whereas, a cle~n community is essential if we are to attract new residents and new <br />developers; and <br /> <br /> Whereas, the cleaning up of our neighborhood has to be a first priority among the <br />residents and city government officials; and <br /> <br /> Where,, the present system of code enforcement is not working up to its design and needs <br />a radical overhaul; and <br /> <br /> Whereas, the citizens of Portsmouth need to have the opportunity to provide input into <br />this overhaul. <br /> <br /> Therefore, be it resolved by the Park View Civic League at its regular meeting of April <br />~986, that the Mayor of Portsmouth be asked to appoint a task force of citizens and city <br />officials to examine the present code enforcement procedures.
