September 22, 2020

Second, there has been no provision for road improvements to Trucker and Churchland
Blvd (south of High Street). The only improvements mentioned in the proposal is the
retiming of the traffic signals. During the construction of this complex, heavy construction
equipment will be transported along this corridor and subsequent damage to the roads is
inevitable. There are some roadway repairs already needed in this corridor.

Lastly, some of our utilities ran through the Kroger property, namely sewer and water
lines. We have had issues several years ago with sewer back ups in our community.

My recommendation is that the vote for this project be tabled until the above items have
been addressed.
Robert Watkins

7) In opposition to the proposed development on the Kroger site. Would prefer retail
instead of additional housing. The noise and traffic will be bad and will increase the
nuisance of the neighborhood.
Elizabeth Whitesell
3121 Sterling Way

8) In opposition to the proposed development. It will be a drain on utilities and causing
traffic noise.
Sally Drescher
3121 Sterling Way

9) In opposition of the proposed development on the Kroger property.
Holly Register
3141 Sterling Way

10) I am writing in support of the rezoning of 5601 High Street and 3109 Tyre Neck
Road as it appears on the agenda for the Sept 22nd City Council Meeting. This is a better
use of the High St. property than the abandoned grocery store, and the Tyre Neck Road
property should produce much more tax revenue than it currently does after the
apartments are constructed.
Patrick O'Neal
103 Hardy Pl

20-225:
1. We are so excited to hear that Portsmouth City Council is considering a resolution
in support of offshore wind. As you know, the promise of jobs and clean energy in
Hampton Roads has many benefits.

With the Commonwealth investing in the Portsmouth Marine Terminal, and ?rsted leasing
land in Portsmouth to support turbine construction, we are in the perfect position to grow
the clean energy job opportunities right here in Hampton Roads.

The offshore wind industry can create over 14,000 jobs in Virginia. These are high-paying,
local, career-length jobs that can employ Virginians. This is critically important considering
the demand for jobs and opportunity due to devastating impacts of COVID.

We are hopeful for the passing of this resolution in support of offshore wind! We know it
will mean great things for Portsmouth. Thank you for all your work.

Ann Creasy, 1217 Colonial Avenue, C2, Norfolk, VA 23517

Elizabeth Husser, 26079 Shannon Mill Drive, Ruther Glen, VA 22546

Matthew Pack, 3506 Nelson Street, Portsmouth, VA 23707

Michele Nance, 52 Rivercrest Dr, Portsmouth, VA 23701

Carol Summerlyn, 909 Stanley Rd, Portsmouth, VA 23701

Gerritt and Elizabeth Baker-Smith, 5704 W Norfolk Rd, Portsmouth, VA 23703

Kolleen Mortimer, 201 Elmhurst Lane, Portsmouth, VA 23701

Carol Downing, 1725 A St, Portsmouth, VA 23704

Julie Dodd, 5777 Rivermill Cir, Portsmouth, VA 23703

Paul Danaher, 413 Dinwiddie Street, Portsmouth, VA 23704
