August 26, 1986 <br /> <br /> (4) This Resolution will be effective provided the Coiunqils <br />- if the cities of Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Bieach, <br /> Chesapeake, and Suffolk and the Board of Supervisors of the~ County <br /> of Isle of Wight adopt similar Resolutions or Ordinances a~ending <br /> the Articles of Incorporation of the Authority as set £orth~ above." <br /> <br />Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Web~ Holley <br />Nays: None <br /> <br /> 86-315 - Letter from the City Manager recommending adoption of <br />resolution to appoint str6et viewers £or closin~ of a portion of <br />Shipwright Street pursuant to the application mad on the behalf of <br />~erbert A. Haneman, Jr., Helen H. Gould and ~ary ~. Dixon. <br /> <br /> 'Herbert A. Haneman, Jr., Helen H. Gould, and Mary H. Dixon <br />~ave made application to close a portion of Shipwright Street. <br /> <br />The attached resolution appoints viewers in accordance with <br />~pplicable State law to view the portion of such street and to re- <br />port to the Planning Commission if any inconvenience would result <br />closing that portion of Shipwright Street. <br /> <br /> I, therefore, concur and recommend the adoption of the attached <br />resolution." <br /> <br /> The following letter was received from Malcolm D. Griggs, <br />4ttorney, Kaufman & Canoles: <br /> <br /> "We have submitted on behalf of Mr. Herbert A. Haneman; Jr., <br />et al., an application for the closure of a portion of Shi~%ri~ht <br />Street in Portsmouth~ It m~ my understanding that our reqUest°for <br />~he appointment of v~ewers ~s on the City Council docket fo~ the <br />2ouncil meeting on Tuesday, August 26, 1986. <br /> <br /> At this time I must respectfully request that our application <br />[or closure of a portion of Shipwright Street be ~ithdrawn, i The <br />~eason for my request is that we were provided with an incorrect <br />~urvey, which resulted in an incorrect legal description ofithe are~ <br />?roposed to be closed. We will be happy to resubmit an application <br />~or the closure of a portion of Ship~right Street_as soon as we are <br />~rovided with an accurate survey. I anticipate t~at we will be able <br /> move forward within the next two (2) weeks. <br /> <br /> If you have any questions, please feel free to call." <br />)ated August 22, 1986. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mr. Simpson, that ~he appli <br />cation for closure of a portion of Shipwright Street be withdrawn, <br />as requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 86-316 - Letter from the City Manager recomme[nding adoption of <br />a resolution recommending that $925,000 of the City's local !Industri <br />Revenue Allocation be allocated to PRHA for the benefit of ~ristol <br />Associates. <br /> <br /> "On July 22, 1986, the Portsmouth Redevelopme=t and Ho~sing <br />Authority approved an Industrial Revenue Bond Induaement Resiolution <br />for the benefit of Bristol associates. On August 13, 1986, the <br />Industrial Developmen~ Authority of the City of Portsmouth ~pproved <br />an Allocation Resolution recommending that $925,000 of the ~ity's <br />local Industrial Revenue Bond Allocation be allocated to th~ P~rts- <br />~outh Redevelopment and Housing Authority for this project. <br /> <br /> These bonds will be used to construct a 15,000 square ~oot <br />pffice building for lease in the 300 block of County Street lin the <br />tevelopment known as Bristol Square. The new building is e~pected <br /> <br /> <br />
