<br />At a Reorganization Meeting of the City Council on Wednesday, January 2, 2019,
<br />there were present:
<br />
<br />Mayor John L. Rowe, Jr., William E. Moody, Jr., Elizabeth M. Psimas, Nathan J. Clark,
<br />Lisa L. Lucas-Burke, Paul J. Battle, Shannon E. Glover, City Manager Dr. L. Pettis Patton,
<br />City Attorney Solomon H. Ashby, Jr.
<br />
<br />Mayor John L. Rowe, Jr., opened the meeting with prayer, which was followed by
<br />the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
<br />
<br /> Mayor Rowe called the Reorganization Meeting to order and welcomed all in
<br />attendance.
<br />
<br />19 - 01 - Election of Vice Mayor.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Clark, to nominate Lisa L. Lucas-
<br />Burke as Vice Mayor, and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Battle, Clark, Glover, Lucas-Burke, Moody, Psimas, Rowe
<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br />19 - 02 - Adoption of a resolution accepting the 2019 Calendar of City Council
<br />Meetings.
<br />
<br />
<br />Motion by Mr. Clark, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to adopt the following resolution,
<br />and was adopted by the following vote:
<br />
<br />“RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE 2019 CALENDAR OF CITY COUNCIL
<br />MEETINGS
<br />
<br />WHEREAS
<br />, the City Council for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, desires to
<br />set forth its intentions to conduct its regular meetings at a time and date set forth
<br />herein for the calendar year 2019; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS
<br />, the City Council for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, desires to
<br />set forth its intentions to conduct its public work sessions and additional scheduled
<br />meetings at such times and dates set forth herein for the calendar year 2019; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS
<br />, the City Council for the City of Portsmouth, Virginia, desires to
<br />provide for the public advance notice of its intentions to conduct its public meetings
<br />th
<br />in the Council Chamber at 801 Crawford Street, 6 Floor, Portsmouth, Virginia
<br />unless otherwise designated or provided for in a special call or notice subsequently
<br />issued for the benefit of its citizenry and open government.
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
<br /> by the Council of the City of
<br />Portsmouth, Virginia, that it hereby adopts the Portsmouth City Council 2019
<br />Calendar of City Council Meetings in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A.”

<br />19 - 03 - Ratification of boards, committees, and liaison appointments for City
<br />Council.
<br />
<br /> Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Ms. Lucas-Burke, to ratify boards,
<br />commissions, and liaison appointments for City Council, and was adopted by the following
<br />vote:
