New Zoning Ordinance Engagement <br /> <br /> Joint meeting of City Council and Planning Commission, Thursday, August 27, 2018, <br /> <br />at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />3. Discussion of City Council Rules – Speaker Comments - Solomon Ashby, City <br /> Attorney <br /> <br /> Mayor Rowe asked that Solomon Ashby, City Attorney, come back with an <br /> <br />amendment to the Council Rules of Order and Procedure that would allow a person <br />to speak as an agenda and non-agenda speaker but limiting non-agenda comments <br />to a new subject and not referencing a previous agenda item of the current Council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />4. Z-18-02 – Laurel Park Update - Bob Baldwin <br /> <br />5. City Manager’s Report Review/Report Backs - Dr. Patton, City Manager <br /> <br /> <br />6.City Council Liaison Reports <br /> <br />-Councilman Clark - <br /> <br /> Hampton Roads Regional Jail Authority update. <br /> <br />-Councilwoman Lucas-Burke - <br /> <br /> Follow up of Planning Commission consideration of resolution allowing for <br />real estate offices downtown. <br /> <br />-Mayor Rowe - <br /> <br /> Trip to Washington D. C. on September 26, 2018. <br /> <br />-Councilman Moody - <br /> <br /> Asked that staff come back with a report on the retirement multiplier, how it <br />ranks with the State and what is required to provide an increase to the level of <br />the other cities in Hampton Roads. <br /> <br /> Asked that staff come back with a report of Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) <br />for retirees, widows/widowers. <br /> Dr. Patton, City Manager, informed City Council that a presentation <br />o <br />regarding COLA will be provided at the September 24, 2018 Public Work <br />Session. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
