<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED that the CouncE1 of the City of
<br /> endorses the formation of the 'Portsmouth Family-Communi~
<br />rask Force' and calls upon the citizens of this City to assist the
<br />rask Force xn any way possible to assure a citizens victory in the
<br /> ~ht against illegal drugs and alcohol abuse."

<br /> 86-465 - Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, that
<br />authorization be granted to enter into a lease agreement with
<br /> tsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the Sears Buildii
<br /> ~s requested, and was adopted by unanimous vote.
<br />
<br />On motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, the follow-
<br />resolution was adopted, and by the following vote:
<br />
<br />"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONVEY CITY-
<br />OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 700 NORTH STREET, 600 DINWIDDIE
<br />STREZT AND 43~. gREEN STREET TO PORTSMOUTH REDEVELOPMENT AND
<br />MOUSING AUTHORITY.

<br /> ~fHEREAS, the City owns hereinafter-described real property
<br /> .ch has been occupied by the offices of the Department of Social
<br />;ervices and the Health Department; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City has entered into a lease agreement with
<br />'ortsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority to relocate said
<br />offices to the property formerly owned by Sears Roebuck and Company
<br />on High Street; and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the herein-described properties are to be conveyed to
<br />~tsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority for the purpose of
<br />securing the terms and conditions of said lease and for future re-
<br /> ,pment by private interest.
<br />
<br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of
<br /> Virginia, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is,
<br /> · ized to convey to Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Author:
<br /> City-owned properties known as 700 North Street, 600 Dinwiddie
<br />,treet and 439 Green Street.
<br />
<br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be,
<br /> s, authorized to sign such deeds and other documents
<br />~ecessary to complete this transaction."
