June '12, 2000 207 At a Called Meeting of the City Councl on Monday, June .12, 2000, there were present: Vice Mayor Bernard D. Griffin, Sr., *Cameron C. Pitts, P. Ward Robinett, Jr., J. Thomas Benn Ill, William E. Moody, Jr., Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., City Manager Ronald W. Massie, City Attorney G. Timothy Oksman. 00 - 125 - The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Manager's Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6th floor, 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 12, 2000, for the purpose of a Closed Session. By order of the Mayor." Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, to go into Closed Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.1-344(A) of the Code of Virginia, to discuss or consider the following: subsection 3, the acquisition or sale of realty for a public purpose; and subsection 4, prospective business expansion or location, and also investing public funds where competition or bargaining is involved. The motion was adopted by unanimous vote. Motion by Mr. Whitehurst, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section 2.1- 344.1(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Member's knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in the meeting by the City Council.
