<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, there
<br />were present:

<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Elizabeth M. Psimas, William E. Moody, Jr., Paige
<br />D. Cherry, *Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, Dr. Mark M. Whitaker, City
<br />Manager Dr. L. Pettis Patton, Assistant City Attorney Jeff S. Miller.

<br />15 - 339 - The following call for the meeting was read:

<br /> "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6 Floor
<br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 for
<br />the purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />
<br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />
<br />By order of the Mayor."

<br />15 - 340 - The following items were discussed in Public Work Session:

<br />15 - 341 - Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Dr. Whitaker, to go into Closed
<br />
<br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 A.1 of the Code of Virginiafor the
<br />purpose of discussion and consideration of prospective candidates for employment as
<br />City Attorney and discussion and consideration of prospective candidates for and
<br />appointees to boards and commissions.
<br />
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Whitaker, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />
<br /> Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Dr. Whitaker, pursuant to Section 2.2-
<br />3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members’
<br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council:
<br />
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in
<br />the meeting by the City Council.
