Herbert Simpson, George L. Hanbury, <br />Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. <br /> <br />Robert Gray, <br />It~ City Manager, <br /> <br />Absent: James W. Holley, III, Jack P. Barnes, L. Louise Lucas <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Webb presided in the absence~of the Mayor. <br /> <br /> 87-98 - The following call for the meeting was read: ~ <br /> <br /> "Please attend a called meeting of ~he City Counci~ to be!held <br />in the Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford S~reet <br />at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 1987 for the purpose of a p~blic <br />work session on appeals from the Commission of Architectural R~view <br /> <br /> In addition, you may consider a motion to go into an executive <br />session. <br /> <br />By order of the'Mayor." <br /> <br /> 87-2 - A public work session was held on the appeal of Calvin <br />Majette, 45 Manly Street, previously acted on at the public wo[k <br />session of February 10, 1987 and requested by City Council fori a <br />re~earing on April 10, 1987. <br /> <br /> Mr. Majette was present and stated he had no further commlents <br />on the property in question, and answered questions as present!ed. <br /> <br /> Ernest Freeman, City Planner, made a presentation and reclom- <br />mended that the appeal be sent back to Commission of ArchitectUral <br />Review-Cradock/Olde TOwne/~rUxtun for consideration of~ddi~io~al <br />information that was received and presented to City Council. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Simpson and seconded by Mr. Gray that Mr. <br />be allowed to proceed with the work to have same appropriatel' <br />and the mechanical equipment to be screened, as agreed to at the <br />meeting of February 10, 1987, and was adopted by unanimous rot <br />(4-0). <br /> <br /> Mr. Freeman was directed to explain to the CAR-Cradock/O1 <br />Towne/Truxtun and the Old Truxtun Civic League the decision re <br />by the City Council. <br /> <br /> 87-99 - A public work session was held for the appeal fro <br />Earl Stephenson regarding a decision of the Commission of Arch <br />tural Review~Port Norfolk/Park View on February 2, 1987, house <br />77 Elm Avenue. <br /> <br /> Earl Stephenson and his contractor.
