March 24, 2015 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, there were present: Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Elizabeth M. Psimas, Paige D. Cherry, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., *Danny W. Meeks, Dr. Mark M. Whitaker, City Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson. 15 - 123 - The following call for the meeting was read: th "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6 Floor Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2015 for the purpose of a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 15 - 124 - Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Dr. Whitaker, to go into a Closed Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711for the following purpose: Discussion concerning the disposition of publicly held real property in the Downtown area of the City, as permitted under Subsections A.3 and A.7; and Discussion concerning the disposition of publicly held real property in the Downtown area of the City, where discussion would adversely affect the negotiating strategy of the City, as permitted under Subsection A.3; Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff pertaining to probable litigation involving property in the Victory Village section of the City, as permitted under Subsection A.7; Consultation with legal counsel concerning a matter involving the expenditure of public funds, as permitted under Subsection A.7; and Discussion concerning the performance of a Council appointee and of candidates for appointment to City boards and commissions, as permitted under Subsection A. 1. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Psimas, Whitaker, Wright Nays: None Motion by Dr. Edmonds, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members’ knowledge: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting just concluded by the City Council. The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Psimas, Whitaker, Wright Nays: None On motion, meeting adjourned.
