<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, there
<br />were present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., *Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, *Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., 'Danny W. Meeks, City
<br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />14 - 437 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6t" Floor
<br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014 for
<br />the purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />14 - 438 -The following items were discussed in Public Work Session:
<br />1. Briefing on Flood Plain Management -Fred Brusso, Department of Neighborhood
<br />Advancement Director
<br />2. Z-14-04 Victory Crossing/Newport -Bob Baldwin, Planning Director
<br />14 - 439 -Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Cherry, to go into Closed Meeting
<br />pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia, for the following
<br />purpose:
<br />- Consideration of candidates for appointment to City boards and commissions, as
<br />permitted under Subsection A.1.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Ms. Randall, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, pursuant to Section 2.2-
<br />3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members'
<br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in
<br />the meeting by the City Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />On motion, meeting adjourned.
