October 14, 2014 <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, there <br />were present: <br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, *Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene <br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., *Danny W. Meeks, City <br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson. <br />14 - 380 -The following call for the meeting was read: <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6t" Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014 for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />14 - 381 -The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. City Council Liaison Reports - <br />- Mayor Wright - <br />• Re-Grand Opening of Farm Fresh. <br />- Councilwoman Psimas - <br />• Propeller Club Event Update. <br />- Councilman Edmonds - <br />• Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority Update. <br />• Swanson Homes and Lincoln Park Revitalization Update. <br />14 - 382 -Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into a Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purpose: <br />Consultation with legal counsel and briefings by staff pertaining to two matters <br />of actual litigation involving the Fair Labor Standards Act and Hampton Roads Transit, <br />where such consultation in open meeting would adversely affect the City's negotiating <br />posture, as permitted under Subsection A.7; and <br />Consideration of candidates for appointment to City boards and commissions, <br />as permitted under Subsection A.1. <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />Motion by Mr. Edmonds, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, pursuant to Virginia Code <br />Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members' knowledge: <br />
