September 15, 2014 <br />195 <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, September 15, 2014, there <br />were present: <br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Elizabeth <br />M. Psimas. <br />14 - 352 -The following call for the meeting was read: <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held at Churchland <br />Branch Library, 4934 High Street West, 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2014 for the <br />purpose of a Community Meeting. <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />The following concerns were discussed by citizens: <br />1. Bonus that was given to the Constitutional Officers and their employees. <br />2. Creation of citizen advisory committee for The Pines. <br />3. Code enforcement notifications and website. <br />4. Schools being used as safe havens for youths. <br />5. Future auditing of the school board. <br />6. Profitability of nTelos Pavi-ion. <br />7. Solving the infrastructure problems in the City to decreased flooding. <br />8. $175 million placed in the retirement fund and City Council's lack of policy <br />implementation suggested by the financial advisors. <br />9.
