<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, there
<br />were present:
<br />*Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., *Danny W. Meeks, City
<br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />14 - 330 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6t" Floor
<br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 9, 2014 for the
<br />purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />14 - 331 -Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into a Closed
<br />Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purpose:
<br />Consultation with legal counsel and briefing by staff pertaining to matters of
<br />actual or probable litigation, as permitted under Subsection A.7.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, pursuant to Virginia
<br />Code Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members'
<br />knowledge:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened
<br />were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting just concluded by the City
<br />Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
