131 June 23, 2014 At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, June 23, 2014, there were present: Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., *Marlene W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, City Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson. 14 - 236 -The following call for the meeting was read: "Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014 for the purpose of Appointee Evaluations. In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. By order of the Mayor." 14 - 238 -Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, to go into a Closed Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purposes: Discussion concerning the performance of the City Assessor and the City Clerk, as permitted under Subsection A.1; The motion was adopted by the following vote: Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Wright Nays: None .Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members' knowledge: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which the Closed Meeting was convened were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting just concluded by the City Council.
