<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, March 10, 2014, there were
<br />present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, City
<br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />14 - 85 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council
<br />Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2014 for the purpose of a
<br />Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />14 - 86 -The following item was discussed in Public Work Session:
<br />1. General Assembly Update -Sherri Neil, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs
<br />2. Budget Adjustments -John Rowe, City Manager
<br />3. State of the City Discussion -John Rowe, City Manager
<br />4. Zoning Ordinance Modification -Robert Baldwin, Director of Planning
<br />5. Miscellaneous -John Rowe, City Manager
<br />• Food Trucks
<br />• Churchland High School Air
<br />14 - 87 -Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into a Closed
<br />Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purpose:
<br />Briefing by staff and consultation with legal counsel regarding a legal matter, as
<br />permitted under Subsection A. 7.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Virginia Code
<br />Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members' knowledge:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened
<br />were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting just concluded by the City
<br />Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:42 p.m.
