<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, November 25, 2013, there
<br />were present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, City
<br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />13 - 471 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the City Council
<br />Chamber, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, 2013 for the purpose
<br />of a Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />13 - 472 -The following item was discussed in Public Work Session:
<br />1. Historic Preservation Commission Appeal -Worthington Square Condominiums
<br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Meeks, to concur with the decision
<br />of the Historic Preservation Commission to deny the request to replace fiberboard
<br />siding with vinyl siding to the property at Worthington Square, and was adopted by the
<br />following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Meeks, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: Edmonds, Moody
<br />13 - 473 -Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to go into a Closed
<br />Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purpose:
<br />Consideration of candidates for appointments to City boards and commissions,
<br />as permitted under Subsection A.1
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Mr. Cherry, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, pursuant to Virginia Code
<br />Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members' knowledge:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened
<br />were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting just concluded by the City
<br />Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Cherry, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
