542 <br />October 22, 2013 <br />- New Business - <br />13 - 445 -Boards and Commissions . <br />There were no appointments. <br />13 - 446 -Items Submitted by Council Members <br />- Mayor Wright spoke on the following events: <br />• Celebrating Coast Guard Day, Saturday, November 2 starting at nTelos. <br />• Celebrate Healthcare Fest, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, November 9 at the <br />Edmonds Center. <br />• 2"d Annual Port Norfolk Civic League's Boo-Yah 5k and Little Monsters Run held <br />on October 19. <br />- Ms. Psimas reminded citizens of the final Coffee Talk of the year with the City <br />Manager on Thursday, October 24 at the Cradock Fire Station, 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. <br />- Mr. Moody informed citizens and City Council of the effects of not using sunscreen. <br />13 - 447 -Report on Pending Items <br />There were no pending items. <br />13 - 448 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Clyde Toler, 1029 Blair Street, spoke on various issues within the City. <br />2. Mark Geduldig-Yatrofsky, P. O. Box 50141, gave his opinions on the upcoming <br />election for Sheriff. <br />3. Tony Goodwin, 38 Linden Avenue, reminded citizens of the Fall Events in Olde <br />Towne. <br />4. Elvira Johnson, 3313 Armistead Drive, spoke in support of amulti-cultural center in <br />the Truxton neighborhood. <br />5. Iva Foust, 1002 Tart Drive, informed everyone of the Gala Grand Opening of the <br />Colored Community Library Museum. <br />6. Jupri Nowlin, 2908 Deep Creek Boulevard, spoke in support of amulti-cultural center <br />in the Truxton neighborhood. <br />7. Marvion Thomas, 2908 Deep Creek Boulevard, spoke in support of amulti-cultural <br />center in the Truxton neighborhood. <br />8. Frances Black, 600 Yorktown Avenue, spoke in opposition to the proposed <br />methadone clinic in her neighborhood. <br />9.
