<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, August 26, 2013, there were
<br />present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, City
<br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />13 - 343 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6th Floor
<br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013 for the
<br />purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />13 - 345 -Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Psimas, to go into Closed
<br />Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purpose:.
<br />• Consideration of the acquisition of real property for s public purpose in the
<br />Sugar Hill section of the City, as permitted under Subsection A.3; and
<br />• Consideration of appointments to City boards, commissions and
<br />committees, as permitted. under Subsection A.1.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Ms. Psimas, and seconded by Mr. Moody, pursuant to Section 2.2-
<br />3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members'
<br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified. in the motion, by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in
<br />the closed meeting just concluded by the City Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
