420 <br />May 14, 2013 <br />- Ms. Psimas spoke on the following events: <br />- The opening of Jimmy John's restaurant. <br />- Umoja Festival during Memorial Day weekend. <br />- The Elizabeth River Run, Memorial Day weekend. <br />- Chaka Khan performing at the nTelos Pavilion on Saturday, May 25. <br />- 129th Annual Memorial Day Parade, 11 am, Monday, May 27 starting at I. C. <br />Norcom High School. <br />- The Farmer's Market every Saturday from 9 am - 1 pm at High and Court <br />Streets. <br />- Ms. Randall asked that citizens continue to be vigilant and informed about what is <br />happening in the City. <br />- Mayor Wright asked that citizens view the May 13 Public Work Session which shows <br />the City Manager's synopsis of the meeting with the financial advisors in New York. <br />- Mr. Moody congratulated City Manager, John Rowe and the Financial Team for a job <br />well done on the City budget. <br />13 - 213 -Report on Pending Items <br />• Bernadette Hogge, Ombudsman, gave an update on items of concern presented by <br />citizens at the April 23, 2013 City Council Meeting. <br />13 - 214 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Clyde Toler, 1029 Blair Street, voiced his concern with increased funding to the <br />schools. <br />2. J. Brewer Moore, 308 Bobby Jones Drive, asked if the City was ready to participate <br />in Virginia's Celebration of the War of 1812. <br />3. Joseph Griffin, 3208 Gwen Street, asked for help in repairing damage to his home. <br />On motion, meeting adjourned at 8:49 p.m. <br />Minutes prepared by: <br />A ' .
