407 <br />April 23, 2013 <br />- New Business - <br />13 - 191 -Boards and Commissions <br />There were no appointments. <br />13 - 192 -Items Submitted by Council Members <br />- Mayor Wright provided an update on the following events: <br />- Thanked and congratulated Chief Hargis and the Police Department on their <br />recent awards ceremony. <br />- The Healthy Portsmouth Initiative kickoff taking place this Saturday, April 27, <br />2013 at the NTelos Pavilion. <br />- Mr. Moody commended the citizens that recently attended the Neighborhood <br />Academy and also the ones that came out to support the Walk for Hunger. <br />- Mr. Cherry congratulated Sergeant Jenkins of the Police Department, and Captain <br />Chris Riley of the Fire Department, who both recently received awards for going <br />above and beyond their call of duty. <br />13 - 193 -Report on Pending Items <br />• There were no pending items. <br />13 - 194 -Non-Agenda Speakers <br />1. Wayne Davis, 319 Worthington Square, voiced his concern about a possible dog <br />park coming to the Worthington Square area. . <br />2. Sam Wright, 344 Worthington Square, voiced his concern about a possible dog park <br />coming to the Worthington Square area. <br />3. John Johnson, 3901 Merrinar Drive, voiced his concern about a possible dog park <br />coming to the Worthington Square area. <br />4.
