<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, there were
<br />present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., *Marlene
<br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., *Danny W. Meeks, City
<br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />13 - 106 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6t" Floor
<br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013 for the
<br />purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."
<br />13 - 107 -The following items were discussed in Public Work Session:
<br />1. MLK -City Property -John Rowe, City Manager
<br />2. Tolls Resolution -John Rowe, City Manager
<br />3. Status report on Victory Village -Fred Brusso, Interim Planning Director
<br />4. TCC Visual Arts Parking -Patrick Small, Economic Development Director
<br />5. Lighting in County Street Garage -James Wright, City Engineer
<br />6. Zoning Permit for Kroger -Patrick Small, Economic Development Director /James
<br />Wright, City Engineer
<br />7. Alexander Corner Pothole Maintenance -James Wright, City Engineer
<br />8. Power box at Trinity Church -James Wright, City Engineer
<br />13 - 108 -Motion by Mr. Edmonds, and seconded by Mr. Moody, to go into Closed
<br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia, for the
<br />following purposes:
<br />- Consideration of contractual matters involving the positions of City Auditor, City
<br />Manager, and City Attorney, as permitted under Subsections A.1 and A.7.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Ms. Randall, pursuant to Section 2.2-
<br />3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members'
<br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in
<br />the meeting by the City Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meeks, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright
<br />Nays: None
