February 11, 2013 <br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Monday, February 11, 2013, there <br />were present: <br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Paige D. Cherry, William E. Moody, Jr., Marlene <br />W. Randall, Elizabeth M. Psimas, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr., Danny W. Meeks, City <br />Manager John L. Rowe, Jr., City Attorney George M. Willson. <br />13 - 51 -The following call for the meeting was read: <br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6t" Floor <br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 6:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013 for the <br />purpose of a Public Work Session. <br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting. <br />By order of the Mayor." <br />School Board Members Present: <br />Dr. David C. Stuckwisch, Superintendent <br />James E. Bridgeford, Chairman <br />Joseph A. Fleming <br />James M. Hewitt <br />Ted J. Lamb <br />B. Keith Nance <br />Claude C. Parent <br />Costella B. Williams <br />13 - 52 -The following items were discussed in Public Work Session: <br />1. Update General Assembly Legislation <br />2. Accreditation of Schools <br />3. 2013-14 Budget <br />4. Capital Projects, Churchland High School HVAC <br />13 - 53 -Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, to go into a Closed <br />Meeting pursuant to Virginia Code 2.2-3711 for the following purpose: <br />Consideration of prospective candidates for appointment as City Auditor, City <br />Manager, and City Attorney as permitted under Subsection A.1. <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meek, Moody, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />• Councilwoman Psimas was absent during vote. <br />Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, pursuant to Virginia Code <br />Section 2.2-3712(D) certifying that, to the best of the Council Members' knowledge: <br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting <br />requirements under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and <br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion by which <br />the Closed Meeting was convened <br />were heard, discussed or considered in the closed meeting just concluded by the City <br />Council. <br />The motion was adopted by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Meek, Moody, Psimas, Randall, Wright <br />Nays: None <br />
