<br />At a Called Meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, there
<br />were present:
<br />Mayor Kenneth I. Wright, Vice Mayor Charles B. Whitehurst, Sr., ~IVilliam E. Moody, Jr.,
<br />Marlene W. Randall, Stephen E. Heretick, Paige D. Cherry, Dr. Curtis E. Edmonds, Sr.,
<br />City Manager Kenneth L. Chandler, Senior Deputy City Attorney George M. Willson.
<br />12 - 359 -The following call for the meeting was read:
<br />"Please attend a Called Meeting of the City Council to be held in the 6t" Floor
<br />Conference Room, 801 Crawford Street, 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2012 for
<br />the purpose of a Public Work Session.
<br />In addition, you may consider a motion to go into a Closed Meeting.
<br />By order of the Mayor."

<br />12 - 361 -Motion by Mr. Moody, and seconded by Mr. Edmonds, to go into Closed
<br />Meeting pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia, to discuss:
<br />- The disposition of publicly held real property, where discussion in an open
<br />meeting would adversely affect the City's bargaining position or negotiating
<br />strategy, as permitted under subsection A.3. The subject properties are located
<br />in the Downtown and Midcity areas of the City.
<br />- Candidates for appointment to City boards and commissions, as permitted under
<br />subsection A.1.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Heretick, Moody, Randall, Whitehurst, Wright
<br />Nays: None
<br />Motion by Mr. Heretick, and seconded by Mr. Whitehurst, pursuant to Section
<br />2.2-3712(D) of the Code of Virginia, certifying that to the best of the Council Members'
<br />knowledge during the immediately preceding Closed Meeting of the City Council:
<br />1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting
<br />requirements by the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, and
<br />2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion, by which
<br />the Closed Meeting was convened, were heard, discussed or considered in
<br />the meeting by the City Council.
<br />The motion was adopted by the following vote:
<br />Ayes: Cherry, Edmonds, Heretick, Randall, Whitehurst, Wright
