September 17, 1987 <br /> <br /> At a special calted meet~ing of the City Council held on Thursda <br />September 17, 1987, there were present: <br /> <br />Jack P. Barnes, E. <br />L. Louise Lucas, J~ <br />George L. Hanbury, <br />City Attorney. <br /> <br />G. Corprew, Jr., J, Robert Gray, <br /> Herbert Simpson, Gloria O. Webb, <br />II, City Manager, Steven Lieberman, <br /> <br />Absent: Mayor James W. Holley, III <br /> <br />Vice Mayor :Webb~presided in ~he absence :df the Mayor. <br /> <br />8?-405 The following call for the meeting was read: <br /> <br /> "Please attend a special called meeting of the City Council <br />to be held in the City Council/City Manager Conference Room, 6th <br />floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, on Thursday, September 17, <br />1987, at 3:00 p.m. for the purpose of considering a motion to go <br />into an executive session. <br /> <br /> Council may take public action with regard to matters under <br />discussion if deemed appropriate. <br /> <br />By order of the Mayor." <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, to go into an <br />executive session in accordance with Section 2.1¢344 of the Code <br />of Virginia to discuss the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Consideration of a.personnel matter as permitted under <br />subsection (a) (1); <br /> <br /> 2. Consultation with City Attorney and briefing by staff <br />members pertaining to actual or potential litigation or other legal <br />matters within the j.urisdiction of the City Council as permitted <br />under subsection ia) (6). <br /> <br />On motion was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />On motion meeting <br />APPROVED-p <br /> <br />adjourned at 5:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
