465' October 12, 1987 At a called meeting of the City Council held on Monday, Octob~ i2, 1987, there were present: Mayor James W. Holley, III, Jack P. Barnes, E. G. Corpr~w~ Jr., J. Robert Gray, L. Louise Lucas, J. Herbert Simpson, Gloria O. Webb, George L. Hanbury, 7Kg~ Steven Lieberman, City Attorney. 87-436 The following call £or the meeting was read: "Please attend a called meeting of the City Council to be held in the Council Chamber, 6th floor of City Hall, 801 Crawford Street, at -:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 1987, £or the purpose of a public work session on the CIP. In addition you may consider a motion to go into an executive session. By order of the Mayor." The Mayor called the meeting to order. Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Simpson, to suspend the rules for citizens to speak on the CIP, and was adopted by ~nan~mous vote. The following citizens spoke concerning the proposed 1987-92 lIP: Richard Ramsey, 4300 South Street William H. Oast, III, 213 Park Road, Chairman Richard Moore, 410 Park Manor Road Steve Bristow, 4249 Morgate Lane Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street James C. Currie, 5 E. Pollux Circle Vernon C. Crump, Jr., 2501 Oak Street Purvis H. Richardson, Sr., 2607 Evergreen Place John Kool, 101 Crawford Parkway Barbara Vincent, 143 Grayson Street Raleigh Harsley, 2124 Peach Street of PRHA. The Mayor stated that the Council was in a work session and zomments from the City Manager wculd be heard at this time. The City Manager commented on projects included in the CIP., and responded to questions as presented by Council. 87-437 - Motion of Mr. Gray and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, to go into executive session in accordance With Section 2.1-344 of the Code of Virginia to discuss a Personnel Matter as provided in sub- ~ection (a) (1), and was adopted by 6-1 (Nay-Simpson) vote. The Council went into an executive session at 9:02 p.m. The City Council reconvened at 9:39 p.m. On mo~ion meeting adjourned. APPROVED-~
