Copeland, 2107 Staunton Avenue, representing the <br /> NAACP and American Legion Post 190. <br /> Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to suspend <br />the rules to allow the speaker five additional minutes, and was <br />adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 87-454 Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street, Representing Highland- <br />Biltmore Civic League, requested the City purchase 715 Summers Plac <br />for a recreation censer. <br /> <br /> 87-455 - Anne H. Long, 4439 Winchester Drive, representing <br />Portsmouth Area Resources Coalition, Inc., spoke concerning <br />financial assistance needed for the operation of Park Place Shelte~ <br /> <br /> Motion of Mr. Barnes, and seconded by Mrs. Webb, that the <br />matter be referred to the City Manager and the Manager report back <br />to Council prior to the next meeting, also, fhe Manager respond <br />in his report where Council had deviated and what they have done, <br />and was adopted by unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> 87-456 - Hank Fallon, 101 Jacquelyn Drive, representing the <br />Committee of ConCerned Citizen's, spoke concerning City Employee's <br />serving on Boards and Commissions in the City. <br /> <br /> 87-457 - Doris K. Leitner, 215 Gloasgow Street, spoke concerni <br />the proposed demolition of three Olde Towne South Buildings and <br />asked if the demolition should be postponed until the matter is <br />looked into further. <br /> <br /> 87-458 - Rafiq Zaidi, 944-B Lincoln Street, representing the <br />Nation of Islam #57, Portsmouth, Virginia spoke concerning the <br />City Attorney's legal fees and payment of same. <br /> <br /> Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, that the <br />speaker be granted an additional two minutes and was adopted by <br />unanimous vote. <br /> <br /> <br />
