Ayes: Barnes, Corprew, Gray, Lucas, Simpson, Webb, Nays: None 87-453 The following citizens spoke concerning the lease on Bide-A-Wee Golf Course: Motion of Mrs. IYebb and seconded by Mr. Barnes, granted an additional five minutes, and was adopted vote. citizen be by unanimous Diane Davis-Wagner, 129 Yorkshire Road. Motion of Mr. Barnes and seconded by Mr. Gray, citizen be granted an additional five minutes, and was adopted by unanimous vote. Littleton Southhall, 931 Vermont Avenue. Motion of Mrs. Lucas amd seconded by Mrs. Webb, citizen be granted an additional five minutes, and was adopted by unanimous vote. Raleigh Harsley, 2124 Peach Street. John Wallace, 957 "C" Suburban Parkway. William E. Copeland, 2107 Staunton Avenue, representing the NAACP and American Legion Post 190. Motion of Mrs. Lucas and seconded by Mr. Barnes, to suspend the rules to allow the speaker five additional minutes, and was adopted by unanimous vote. 87-454 Bill Watson, 200 Gee Street, Representing Highland- Biltmore Civic League, requested the City purchase 715 Summers Plac for a recreation censer. 87-455 - Anne H. Long, 4439 Winchester Drive, representing Portsmouth Area Resources Coalition, Inc., spoke concerning financial assistance needed for the operation of Park Place Shelte~ Motion of Mr. Barnes, and seconded by Mrs. Webb, that the matter be referred to the City Manager and the Manager report back to Council prior to the next meeting, also, fhe Manager respond in his report where Council had deviated and what they have done, and was adopted by unanimous vote. 87-456 - Hank Fallon, 101 Jacquelyn Drive, representing the Committee of ConCerned Citizen's, spoke concerning City Employee's serving on Boards and Commissions in the City. 87-457 - Doris K. Leitner, 215 Gloasgow Street, spoke concerni the proposed demolition of three Olde Towne South Buildings and asked if the demolition should be postponed until the matter is looked into further. 87-458 - Rafiq Zaidi, 944-B Lincoln Street, representing the Nation of Islam #57, Portsmouth, Virginia spoke concerning the City Attorney's legal fees and payment of same. Motion of Mrs. Webb and seconded by Mrs. Lucas, that the speaker be granted an additional two minutes and was adopted by unanimous vote.
